It is law within the UK that every item of precious metal sold such as Platinum, Gold, Silver is stamped labelling the item with the type of metal it is. Platinum pieces which weigh less than 0.5 grams, 18ct Gold and Palladium pieces weighing less than 1.0 gram and Silver pieces weighing less than 7.78 grams are except from hallmark.
At Diamonds Factory all our products are hallmarked as per UK hallmarking law from London Assay Office (The GoldSmith Company)
The Goldsmiths' Company Assay Office is the oldest assay office in the United Kingdom. It has provided hallmarking services since The Goldsmiths' Company was founded in the 1300s. The company received its royal charter in 1327 and ranks 5th in order of precedence of the 12 Great Livery Companies of the City of London.
Hallmarking dates back to the 1300s when Edward I of England passed a law requiring any item made of silver, which was offered for sale, to be at least of equal quality as that of the coin of the realm (silver currency). The wardens of The Goldsmiths' Company were tasked with visiting workshops in the City of London to assay (test) silver articles. If these articles were found to be below standard they were originally destroyed and the metal forfeited to the King. If they passed, each article received the King's mark of authentication - the mark of a leopard's head. By 1478, there were several hundred workshops and merchants manufacturing silver articles in the City of London. It was not possible for the wardens to visit them all so the merchants were ordered to bring their items to Goldsmiths' Hall for testing and marking and a permanent Assay Office was established in the building. This is the origin of the term hallmark - struck with the King's mark at Goldsmiths' Hall.
In 1544 the Goldsmith's Company adopted the King's mark as their town mark and the mark of the leopard's head is now internationally recognised as the mark of this assay office.
The Goldsmiths's Company Assay Office is still based at Goldsmiths's Hall and remains the oldest company in Britain to be continually trading from the same site. However, it also has two satellite offices; at Greville Street in Hatton Garden in the heart of the London jewellery quarter and within a high security complex near London's Heathrow airport. It now has a new off-site facility within the Dalston-based jewellery manufacturer, Allied Gold. This is the first time in the Assay Office's 700 year history that it has opened permanent hallmarking services on a customer's premises.
In addition to hallmarking, the office has now expanded its range of services to support the jewellery trade and enforcement authorities. It offers a variety of specialist analytical services including nickel, lead & cadmium testing, antique silver dating, non-destructive compositional analysis, plating thickness measurement and a melt and assay service for scrap precious metal carried out in their fully independent on-site laboratory. Other services offered are a jewellery valuation service, laser marking, trading standards assistance, high quality photography and a comprehensive range of training and educational seminars, lectures and specialist events.
Every celebration marks a point in time, whether it is personal, cultural or shared within a family. Birthdays, anniversaries, engagements, graduations and national occasions all carry significance for different reasons. When choosing a gift for these moments, the focus shifts from convenience to longevity.
Meaningful celebrations call for gifts that retain relevance after the event. A diamond bracelet or a pendant layered with existing jewellery keeps the memory active whenever they reach for it. This enduring quality makes diamond gifts particularly suited to moments that mark growth, commitment or shared history.

The Versatility Of Diamond Jewellery
One of the strongest reasons diamond jewellery works across celebrations is its versatility. Designs range from minimal and understated to structured and expressive. This breadth makes it easier to match the piece to the recipient rather than the occasion alone.
For milestone birthdays, diamond earrings or pendants strike a balance between elegance and practicality. For anniversaries, rings or bracelets offer a deeper symbolic weight. Diamond jewellery gifts can be adapted to suit partners, parents, siblings or close friends.
This adaptability also extends to styling. Diamonds integrate easily with existing collections, making them wearable long after the celebration has passed.
Diamond Jewellery Gifts For Every Occasion
Earrings As Reliable Celebration Gifts
Diamond earrings are among the most reliable choices for gifting, and you have many options to choose from based on their preferences. Studs offer clarity and proportion, which suits both everyday wear and formal settings. Their simplicity supports longevity, especially for recipients who prefer understated jewellery.
For those seeking presence, hoop or drop designs introduce movement and structure. These styles work well for significant occasions such as anniversaries or achievements. Diamond earrings often become a regular part of the wearer’s rotation, making them special.
Pendants & Necklaces With Personal Significance
Diamond Necklaces sit close to the neckline, which gives them a personal quality. You can choose from designs like a solitaire pendant that highlights the diamond itself, focusing attention on cut and clarity. Cluster designs or halo styles add dimension to the necklaces.
Pendants are particularly suited to celebrations tied to personal milestones. Their placement keeps the gift present in daily life. Diamond jewellery gifts in necklace form also offer scope for subtle personalisation through engraving or stone choice.
Bracelets That Blend Beauty & Wearability
Diamond Bracelets are among the strongest choices for celebratory gifting, particularly when the goal is something wearable and lasting. A tennis bracelet offers consistency through its line of diamonds, creating a structured yet fluid look. Slim bangles with diamond accents bring a lighter touch while maintaining visual impact.
These designs suit both intimate celebrations and larger gatherings. Diamond gifts in bracelet form strike a balance between presence and practicality, making them appropriate for a wide range of recipients.
Rings That Commemorate Milestones
Rings carry particular weight during meaningful celebrations. Anniversary bands, eternity rings and diamond set bands acknowledge shared journeys or achievements. Their circular form naturally reflects continuity and connection.
For non-romantic occasions, rings can still serve as powerful markers. A diamond-set band marking a professional achievement or personal milestone offers permanence that aligns with the event.
Cultural And National Celebrations
Certain celebrations hold cultural significance. In these contexts, gifting should be thoughtful. Diamonds align well with luxury jewellery for Irish celebrations, including national or heritage events, because they transcend short-term trends. A carefully chosen piece reflects pride and recognition.
Choosing The Right Piece
Selecting the right diamond jewellery begins with understanding the recipient’s style. Observing existing jewellery provides practical guidance on metal preference, scale, and design direction. Yellow gold, white gold and platinum each shape the overall appearance differently.
Cut choice also plays a role. Round diamonds provide balanced brilliance, while elongated shapes, such as oval or pear, introduce visual movement. Setting type influences durability and wearability, particularly for rings and bracelets.
Considering these details ensures the gift remains aligned with the wearer’s daily life rather than the celebration alone.
The Importance Of Craftsmanship And Certification
Meaningful celebrations deserve gifts built to last. Certified diamonds provide assurance around quality and origin. Secure settings, precise finishing and durable materials support longevity.
When investing in diamond jewellery, confidence in craftsmanship strengthens the significance of the gift. A piece chosen for a milestone should withstand years of wear and retain its clarity over time.
A Gift That Extends Beyond The Day
Celebrations come and go, yet their meaning remains. Diamond jewellery supports that continuity by offering something tangible and lasting. Whether marking a personal achievement, a family milestone or a cultural occasion, the right piece becomes part of the wearer’s story.
At Diamonds Factory, diamond jewellery is crafted with attention to structure, proportion and long-term wear. With certified diamonds, skilled craftsmanship, free delivery, a price match guarantee, a 30 day return policy and a lifetime guarantee, each piece is supported beyond the moment it is given.
Choosing diamond jewellery for meaningful celebrations ensures the gift remains relevant long after the event itself. Through thoughtful selection and lasting design, it becomes part of the memories it was chosen to honour.
